The Anchor Inn building dates from 1853 when the landlord, Henry Wise replaced the existing Anchor Cottages.
From 1979 to 1994 the pub was run by Paul MacMahon, who was Mayor of Warwick in 1975. Upon the death of his first wife in 1988, funds were raised in her memory, a total of £7000 for the Walsgrave Cancer Appeal.
In the mid 1990s it was renovated and extended to the building seen today.
